Both
the formal verification of computer systems and the automatic
demonstration are studied. In particular, the EURéCA group has
proven the correctness of several communication protocols. Some
proof environments for the 
-calculus and UNITY were developed. On the
theoretical level, the theory of ordinal numbers, the complexity
of counting problems in unification, the calculus of explicit
substitutions are the main research directions.
