Abstract

The SAGEP project focuses on the preliminary design and the management of manufacturing systems. The main research directions are the following ones :

• Modelling and evaluation of discrete event systems. Most of the research done in this area is based on Petri nets ;
• Management of manufacturing systems. This area includes, but is not limited to, scheduling and hierarchical management.

A more recent research area is predictive maintenance. Its goal is to minimize the cost of the maintenance of an equipment by using its stochastic properties.

Another recent development is the design and evaluation of DMS (Decision Making System).

Several manufacturing activies are in progress in the field of combinatorial optimisation, inventory management and scheduling.
