Abstract

The aim of SYNTIM project is to develop research schemes using combination of Computer Vision and Computer Graphics techniques in order to elaborate new solutions to problems of each domain.

Since last year, SYNTIM project activities are focused on future image applications in information highways. The idea consists in trying to transmit images content information through a network in form of 3D models incorporating geometry, photometry (and movement in the future). The receptor (decoder) will have to use a (realistic) rendering algorithm in order to generate an image (sequence) using 3D model informations.

Research is developped in three directions :
tex2html_wrap_inline1139 interactive modelling of scene geometry, photometry, animation or deformation.
tex2html_wrap_inline1139 use of model-based computer vision techniques in order to produce a 3D description.
tex2html_wrap_inline1139 analysis/synthesis collaboration including realistic rendering, augmented reality and analysis/synthesis of movement.
