Global optimization of pipe networks by the interval analysis approach: the Belgium network case

In  we have shown that a classical test problem for the optimization of gas networks, namely the so-called Belgium gas network, could be solved by global optimization techniques. Until now only local algorithms had been used for solving this problem. Using techniques based on interval analysis and constraint propagation we actually recover (and therefore justify) the solution computed so far.
